1. To start, coffee at the cutest drive-through with the nicest woman who gave each dog a cookie. Sign said "Instant human, just add coffee!"
2. Highway 14 to Yellowstone! Shoshone River rushing. Black-Eyed Susan's.
3. Finally got our act together and realized there is an inter-agency national parks pass. Got credit for previous parks. What a deal. Eighty bucks. (Cheaper next year!) It's good for a year!!
4. Most popular question at a sporting goods store in Cody. "What time do they let the animals out?" Same time they push the button for Old Faithful.
5. Bill: I think there was a bear there. Well, it could have been a bear....or a tree stump.
6. Drove all around the park. Southern route from Old Faithful is closed. Bummer. BUT I am in heaven. This place has been calling me. Last time was 1979. Sorry for the plethora of pics. Too many to choose.

7. Wish I'd had a picture of me flipping through the air, feet above my head, after Callie took me out. Ha!
8. And here are what have been yelling my name. Paint pots! No, they aren't calling ME Paint Pots! They ARE paint pots!

9. Mr. Yellowstone himself. Nice guy. Hard to understand. No teeth.
10. The Belmont Stakes, Old Faithful, and a downpour all erupted at once. (Bill and I were at Belmont when Affirmed beat Alydar in 1978 for the Triple Crown. In our blood.)
11. Sigh. I'm happy. Sophie and I think we've never seen Bill so happy either, except he didn't REALLY see a bear. Camped at Henry's Lake State Park, the most magnificent views ever. Mountain bluebirds. Crazy winds and clouds. Heated bathrooms.
Okay. That's enough. Glorious day!
12. 230 miles. 53.5 mpg!!!!!!! Zowee!
