72/36 #1

New project with my 72 friends. Thirty six pieces in a year. I am using acrylics on 12 x 12 canvas and local sand to add texture. No more finger painting. Instead, I am scraping horizontal bands of paint and sand a la Gerhard Richter. Keep a lookout for a new artist in the group, Denise Coleman. She, Susan Wilder, and I went to grad school together in Long Beach (scientific illustration). Here we are reunited a gazillion years later on the 72/36 page!
