Hooray for 7th Grade!

I have been so impressed with the way you all have started the year. You are enthusiastic learners. The work you did on your contract is absolutely the best! I am including it below so our visitors can see how smart you are! What a great beginning to this year of student-centered education.


7th Grade Student-Designed Constitution

We hold these truths to be self-evident…

We, the students of 7th Grade English, in order to form a more perfect classroom, shall:

·      Be organized

·      Be on time and come prepared

·      Respect other people

·      Stay focused

·      Try to give 100%

·      Complete our homework

·      Be good listeners

·      Support others who make mistakes

·      Have fun

·      Ask questions for clarification

I, the teacher of 7th Grade English, in order to assist in a more perfect classroom, shall:

·      Do my best to give my students what they need to learn

·      Give my students time to work on assignments

·      Listen

·      Have patience

·      Give clear instructions

·      Encourage group discussions

·      Be aware of multiple assignments given by other teachers and myself

·      Give choice when possible

·      Make learning fun
